NPCS Conference 10th of March 2017 – “Shaping the Future of Complexity Science in The Netherlands”

NPCS Conference 10th of March 2017

“Shaping the Future of Complexity Science in The Netherlands”

This first annual NPCS conference is structured around co-shaping the research and education agenda, of complexity science in The Netherlands including its funding opportunities. This is in accordance with the goal of NPCS to organise, structure and facilitate research and education in complex systems, and promote societal and industrial use of complex systems knowledge.

Inspiration content-wise is provided by lectures of professor Flache (sociology) and one of the recent Spinoza price winners, Professor Huck (chemistry).

Funding opportunities are likely to arise from the omni-presence of complexity science in the Dutch National Research Agenda (known in short as the NWA), and from the commitments by TNO and NWO, and addressed in the program.

Presentations of the activities organised by the NPCS and those by Complexity Institutes throughout the Netherlands will exhibit the emerging infra-structure of complexity science in The Netherlands.

Co-shaping the future will also be possible by participating in discussions on sub-themes in break-out sessions and their plenary feedback. The poster session during lunch will culminate in a poster prize, which will include a lecturing opportunity at the next NPCS conference, in 2018!

We hope that the conference facilitates all complexity scientists to shape a prosperous future for complexity science in The Netherlands.
